Dr. Sophie J. Bakri, MD, MBA, is Medical Director of the Center for Digital Health, Chair of the Department of Ophthalmology, and the Whitney and Betty MacMillan Professor of Ophthalmology in Honor of Robert R. Waller, M.D., at Mayo Clinic. A vitreoretinal surgeon and physician-scientist, she has authored more than 250 peer-reviewed publications and led numerous multicenter clinical trials. As a physician executive, Dr. Bakri works at the intersection of clinical care, digital health, patient experience, and organizational transformation, helping translate emerging technologies into practical solutions that improve care delivery while maintaining trust, safety, and the patient-clinician relationship.
